Why I Began: I came from a musical family. My grandmother was a church organist. My uncle was a jazz pianist who played with Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Nat King Cole.

Musical Eureka Moment: In the school chorus I heard the sopranos singing. I told my teacher I wanted be able to hit notes like that!
